The cam integrates an innovative nitrogen extraction system, which allows a standard ISO 8020 punch to be housed directly inside the unit and easily sourced on the market. The system develops a force of up to 30,000 daN, ensuring effective and consistent extraction even under the most demanding working conditions. The Smeg cam unit is also equipped with a mechanical emergency extraction system, which activates only in the event of nitrogen extractor failure.

To further enhance safety, the Smeg unit can be equipped with a safety microsensor that communicates the cam’s rest position to the press PLC, minimizing the risk of breakage or malfunction in the event of operational anomalies.
